Long before EarthlyNature became a company, it was a habit — one instilled by parents who never left a light on unnecessarily and never used more than they needed. That mindfulness became second nature: using real plates, bowls, and utensils when entertaining, even when disposables would have been easier, simply to keep one more thing out of the landfill. Later, running a catering business, that same instinct carried through — always looking for ways to serve beautifully without leaving behind a trail of waste.
About eight years ago, that search led to plant fiber-based disposables — products made from bagasse, wheat, and rice fiber instead of plastic or paper pulled from freshly cut trees. The concept was simple but powerful: packaging and tableware that returns to the earth instead of sitting in it for centuries. At the time, it stayed a personal interest, tucked alongside a full-time career. But the idea never let go.
Why We Started EarthlyNature
Single-use plastic and paper disposables share the same fate — a landfill, and the years or centuries it takes to break down. Plant fiber changes that equation. It reduces single-use plastic waste, cuts down on tree-based paper production, and offers a genuinely sustainable path forward for the food service industry.
Despite how compelling this material is, plant fiber disposables are still hard to find on retail shelves. EarthlyNature exists to close that gap — to make truly sustainable tableware and serveware easy to find, easy to trust, and easy to use, for everyone from individual households to the businesses that serve thousands of meals a day.
What We Do
We source certified plant fiber tableware directly from trusted manufacturers in China and India, and bring it to individual consumers, institutional buyers, and food service businesses — cafés, restaurants, and beyond — across the United States, where we're proudly based in Chicago.
